Description: RSS aggregator for news stories related to a specific vertical industry
Details:Created a server-side application to aggregate RSS feeds from over 100 blogs and news sources in a particular industry. Created alerting system to automatically send email, instant message, and SMS notifications when stories related to specific topics were discovered. Created web front-end for viewing and searching active news items.
Architecture components:MySQL 5.0 database, Python 2.4 application, and Apache web server with mod_python.
